Extreme Dominica offers an incredible adventure that allows you to experience the ravishing natural beauty of the island from the inside out.

Imagine hiking down through the rainforest to a secret waterfall that drops off into a hidden canyon far beneath the sunlit forest canopy.

Things to know and things to bring


This epic excursion will call for swimwear, a towel and closed footwear of your own, and your guides will take care of the rest. After getting geared up at Extreme Dominica’s headquarters you will learn how to rappel on a training wall and receive a briefing before you go on a 15 minute drive to the canyon where the real adventure begins.

After traversing the magical canyon the tour concludes with a 15 minute hike back to the vehicle. The tour ends at our base with hot cocoa tea and fresh local fruit.

Safety first

3-way safety system

Your safety is our main priority during a Canyon Experience. All our canyon leaders have years of experience and are trained & certified by the American Canyoneering Association. When rappelling or abseiling in the canyon we use our 3-way safety system to keep you safe at all times. Besides that you will get a brief training before each tour and wear safety gear including wetsuit, jacket, helmet, lifejacket and harness.

 
Rappel Control

1. Rappel Control

During a rappel you will control your own speed. You will learn this easy skill during the brief training at the start of the adventure.

Belay Safety Line

2. Belay Safety Line

This extra safety line is attached to your harness and controlled by the canyoning leader at the top of the rappel.

Fireman Support

3. Fireman Support

The canyoning leader at the bottom of the rappel called the "fireman" is holding and guiding your rappel line as extra safety.

 
 
 
 

Prices

Start your adventure

Book your Canyon Experience or Join a Group. If you are looking for something more adventurous you can sign up for Night Canyoning or the Advanced Canyon tour and rappel from the famous Trafalgar Falls.

We also offer multiple days of canyoning for adventurers with no experience as well as for the expert canyoneer.
